For starters, we opted for the Seafood Tapas Tower, which was served perfectly. Visually pleasing and layered with Prawns, Scallops and served with a lime for a zesty upgrade. The cocktail menu at Life Grand Café is as impressive as the food. We highly recommend the Life Bellini, a refreshing blend of peach purée and sparkling wine and the Cucumber and Apple Mojito. For wine lovers, the restaurant boasts an extensive selection of South African wines, showcasing the best of the Cape’s vineyards.
And let’s not forget the sides! The Truffle Parmesan Fries were an absolute revelation—crispy, golden, and infused with just the right amount of truffle oil. We also tried the Grilled Asparagus, which was fresh and flavorful, perfectly complementing our mains.
When it came to the mains, I could resist the Grilled Beef Fillet, which was tender, juicy, and served with a decadent peppercorn sauce with a side of Sauteed Zucchini and freshly made Mashed Potatoes. Every bite was a reminder of why Life Grand Café has earned its reputation as one of Cape Town’s top dining destinations.
Sweet Endings
No meal is complete without dessert, and Life Grand Café’s offerings did not disappoint. We shared the Creme Brulee. The custard was fluffy and light with the right amount of sweetness and the sugar on top was torched a goldern brown and made a very satisfying cracking noise as we indulged on our first bite.
